The article is devoted to the assessment of the microflora of indoor air in a higher educational institution. Areas of increased risk to the health of students are identified. The following experimental enclosed spaces were selected: classroom, gymnasium, university canteen, and toilet. The study of air microflora was carried out in the autumn period (from October to November) using the sedimentation method. Microbial contamination in the air of the gymnasium was represented by a large number of microorganisms and mold fungi, which indicates air pollution, insufficient ventilation and irregular wet cleaning. Identified mycelial fungi belong to the III–IV group of pathogenicity and they are risk factors for diseases of the respiratory system of students. This room requires the installation of general air exchange ventilation equipment, bacteriological monitoring of the air condition and the creation of ecological phytodesign using plants with high antimicrobial and gas-absorbing activity.
