Building, maintaining and deploying complex multidisciplinary physics codes on multiple platforms is time-consuming and tedious, often distracting scientists and engineers from their primary tasks. To mitigate this problematic situation, the HPCMP CREATE™-AV team has, over time, innovated creative and efficient processes, procedures, and custom software. This paper documents the various tools, procedures, and paradigms used to efficiently manage multiple production-quality codes on a range of hardware platforms. Specifically, it focuses on the processes for distributed code development and management, procedures for building and deploying on Distributed Shared Resource Center (DSRC) assets and other hardware, the paradigm shift in dealing with differing compilers and libraries, and the rigorous testing methodology that ensures the delivery of a professional quality product.
