E.R.A - Augmented Reality Teaching - Assistive Technology Developed for the Literacy Process of Children with ASD

E.R.A - Augmented Reality Teaching is a developed product that assists autistic children to learn how to read and write through Augmented Reality Technology. E.R.A is capable of overcoming the digital and physical apart-feeling that compose the relationship between people and new technologies. The number of children diagnosed with ASD within normal classes in Brazil increased 37,27% during the last 2 years. That means in 2017, 77.102 ASD children and teenagers were being taught the same way as people without the diagnose. Even though presence is positive progress, inclusion implicates adapted contents, preparing teachers and developing activities that look upon the children's characteristics. Inside regular schools, ASD teaching material is still a challenge. E.R.A offers a solution to this absence, once it helps teachers in adapting their material for special students. The product counts with three main parts: puzzle, Augmented Reality application, and construct-words structure. This way, E.R.A. grants autonomy for the child and the teaching professionals when elaborating activities and evaluations, respecting the individualities of each one.
