Power Plants contain many types of equipment which produce noise during operation. Regulations are set at Federal, State and County levels for industrial sources such as Power Plants to comply with the noise level targets This paper provides a case study on troubleshooting the noise sources in a Power Plant, to meet the noise regulations. A comprehensive investigation on noise source identification has been provided. Autospectrum data from microphones and Acoustic Arrays have been used to localize the sources. Temporary noise mitigation techniques for three key areas of the Power Plant have been discussed. An overall LAeq reduction of 8 dBA at a community location was achieved which led to successful compliance with the regulations.
