Incorporating one M2M Platform to Pharmaceutical Industry

Manufacturing industries, such as pharmaceutical, use machines from many vendors to manufacture products. Different machines use different protocols and have different tools to configure and to monitor it. However, in spite of having machine-specific tools, factory managers demand generic tools that covers all machines. An IoT standard body, that is oneM2M, has defined a high-level IoT system architecture that can cater different use cases, including the one in pharmaceutical industry. This paper proves the concept of oneM2M architecture by implementing it into the industry. The factory managers can rely on one dashboard to monitor all machines, one alarm application to give alert from any machine, and one system to give official reports for energy usage of all machines.
