This paper focuses on the event-triggered data-driven control problem for a class of networked nonlinear systems with packet dropouts. First, a novel event-triggered model-free adaptive control (MFAC) approach is proposed to improve the utilization of communication resources and prolong the lifetime of network components, where the data transmission instants are triggered only when particular event-triggering conditions are satisfied. Furthermore, in order to achieve a satisfactory control performance subject to packet dropouts while reducing the transmission burden, a special event-triggered MFAC scheme combined with the packet dropouts compensation is proposed which merely depends on the input and output data of the underlying systems. Under the proposed design framework, neither the mathematical model nor the model parameters of the system are needed. Then, sufficient conditions are established to guarantee that the tracking error is uniformly ultimately bounded and the ultimate bound depends on the event-triggering error. Finally, a simulation example is carried out to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
