In the field of computer graphics, there has been considerable research into the representation of natural objects such as plants and trees, including growth models based on fractal geometry. In this paper, we propose anew, hierarchical, three-dimensional tree shape data reduction method based on fractal geometry. Furthermore, we present a new technqiue for obtaining an IFS(Iterated Function System) to generate the three-dimensional shape of a fractal tree from images of an actual tree from different viewpoints interactively, and we show some successful results.
