Collection and use of EU wide human biomonitoring data in HBM4EU

Human biomonitoring studies in Europe are fragmented and disperse. HBM4EU brings together datasets on human biomonitoring from different European studies in the IPCHEM platform hosted by JRC and makes them accessible for policy makers and the research community respecting ethical and data protection constraints. Different strategies are being developed for using and analysing the data at the European level. We will present the different approaches that are used to evaluate and analyse the datasets for deriving European exposure distributions and reference values, for analysing geographical and time trends and for identifying determinants that influence levels of exposure biomarkers. Some examples of these approaches will be presented.
