The problem of inventory and transportation of engineering logistics in this paper solved the focal problem that how to make the inventory plan and transportation plan of engineering logistics at the operational lever in logistics management through focusing on the optimization of integrating both inventory and transportation. With mixed integer programming theory, a many-to-one model of integrating inventory and transportation of engineering logistics was built and analyzed. To solve the model, the paper constructed an improved heuristic approach whose accuracy was analyzed as well. Finally, a case study, which based on the analysis of the approach, was carried out. It shows the efficiency of the solving method and the guiding value of the method in making practical inventory and transportation plan.
