The focus and objective of CS-14 is to expand international cooperation and understanding of new and innovative repair, replacement and mitigation activities in the nuclear power generation industry. Dissemination and sharing knowledge of these activities is of critical importance to the safe, efficient and longevity of the world's operating nuclear power plants. Session CS-14-1, Repair and Mitigation of Degraded Components in Nuclear Power Plants, covers application of the first weld overlay in the Czech Republic, a new proposed weld overlay code case for repair of thermal fatigue cracking, clarifying the ferrite number (FN) requirements for qualification of weld overlays on stainless steel weldments, and evaluation of laser peening for mitigation of stress corrosion cracking.
