The Seismic Analysis and Design of Piping Systems sessions cover all related topics of seismic behavior of piping systems. Topics include seismic loading, dynamic response, code and regulatory requirements, appropriate stress limits, stress classification, failure modes, effective design methods, safety, reliability, seismic margins, experimental results, and inspection after an earthquake. The present topic has been prepared under sponsorship of the Seismic Engineering Technical Committee of the ASME Pressure Vessels and Piping. Four papers are presented during a technical sessions on Seismic Analysis and Design of Piping Systems. These sessions were developed for the purpose of promoting technical interchange and stimulating further research in the area of design and analysis of piping systems for earthquake loading.
