With the growing utilization of the ocean, communication under water is need in various types of underwater activities, such as ocean sciences, salcage operations, oil and gas exploartions, marine archeology, law enforcement and military activities. Strong signal absorption by water makes RF use is practically impossible under the water. Acoustic navigation and positioning which is the currently used technology which uses the low bandwidth acoustic waves which disturb the marine II. So this paper presents to you how Li-Fi technology can be well suited and advantageous for the short range underwater communication (navigation and positioning)
