Results of experimental researches of the molybdenum, hafnium and anisotropic pyrolytic graphite emission properties in diodes with impregnated cathode are presented in this paper. Also the work covers the emission characteristics of current hogging grid from anisotropic pyrolytic graphite in the electron gun subject to the power of current hogging and the cathode temperature. It is shown that grid structures from anisotropic pyrolytic graphite without occurrence of parasitic thermal electron emission can spread the power of electron flow 20 times more than grid made of molybdenum and 9 times more than grid made of hafnium.
