摘要

It is known that an increase of the areal density of HDD using perpendicular recording media is limited due to the media noise that is caused by insufficient grain segregation. It is effective to enhance grain isolation using oxide materials that easily precipitate to the grain boundary, which was reported on CoPtCrO [1] or CoPtCr-SiO{sub}2 [2] media. In this study, we investigated magnetic properties, magnetic cluster size of CoPtCr-SiO{sub}2 media and its read-write performance.
