This paper represents an efficient and secure image encryption technique using DNA encoding and self-adaptive permutation method. At first, a plain image is encoded into DNA sequence according to DNA encoding method. Key sequence is generated by Linear Feedback Shift Register (LFSR) and 1D chaotic map. This key sequence is applied for masking the DNA encoded image by addition operation. Then DNA complement rule is applied based on two 1D chaotic map. Finally self-adaptive permutation technique using disturbance value of encoded image is applied. Decrypted image can be obtained using the reverse process of encryption. Results and discussions show that proposed method has created more efficient encrypted image and thus increased the resistance against statistical attack.
