Component Testing Measures as Means of Cost Reduction in Future Space Programs

The harsh space radiation environment poses technical challenges for a robust utilization of electronic components in space missions. Often, these challenges directly translate to notable program impacts and introduce potential hurdles for program scope, budget, and schedule. In this paper, component testing measures by International Rectifier HiRel Products are presented as means of assisting the cost reduction efforts in state-of-the-art space programs.
