This paper presents the performance comparison of a corrugated horn antenna with a spline profile horn antenna for its potential application in plasma diagnostic system. The basic horn geometries and the horn geometrical parameters are included in the paper. The comparison of results in terms of return-loss, peak gain, cross-polar level, etc. is made. It was observed that the RF performance of a spline profile horn is comparable with that of a corrugated horn. From fabrication complexity and cost point of view, a spline profile horn is better and can be a potential candidate for its use in millimeter wave plasma diagnostics system.
