The relationship between interface design and operation performance is discussed. In particular, in this study, the relationship between the visual tactile sense of the interface and ease of operation is focused on. In the experiment, the subjects solved addition tasks on using a flat design operation screen and a skeuomorphic design operation screen. The number of correct answers and the time taken for the operations were measured. After performing a task, the subjects evaluated their impressions of the operations. The results of the experiment show that the subjects on operated more accurately when using a skeuomorphic design. The subjects operated slightly faster when using a flat design screen. The flat design screen outperformed the skeuomorphic design screen only for “concentration”. However, there was no statistically significant difference between the date of the two design types. From the results of the experiment, it is inferred that the effect of the texture of the interface on the operation is very small when the operation is simple.
