Benefit of a new Manual Parts for the industry - The proposed manual parts would contain valuable information for regional/shortline railroads and transit agencies to aid in the specification and procurement of ITC type PTC systems. - The manual parts listed above would fill this void and offer a unique perspective on PTC, especially for tenant railroads that have no operational control over any PTC territory, but are required to operate over PTC lines. 2. Overall scope of the Manual Part - For the most part, the manual parts are meant to aid the specification of specific parts of the Office Segment for ITC type PTC. All PTC end users could benefit from this work. Possible overlap of ITC and other IP - It should be noted that some of the areas in the Office Segment are proprietary. There is no intent, or requirement to replace or expose any intellectual property that is not offered to the industry. The manual parts will be consensus documents as the other AREIV1A manual parts are, and careful attention to this issue is key to its success.
