In recent years, the parking problem is getting increasingly worse. Using information technology to improve the use of parking spaces will be an important method to deal with the parking problem. In this paper, an unattended self parking system based on intelligent parking lock combining Internet of Things technology and traditional parking lock is designed, in which GPRS communication, third-party payment and other core technology are used to realize remote automation and management of parking. The structure of the system includes the cloud server, the intelligent parking lock, third-party payment server, parking owners client, database and parking users. The intelligent parking lock is connected to the remote cloud server by GPRS, and socket heartbeat mechanism is utilized to improve the reliability of network communication. It is not necessary to download a dedicated APP or register, third-party payment APP (e.g Alipay or Wechat) can be used to pay the parking fee. Therefore, the system is convenient as well as efficient to use.
