A decentralized algorithm to optimize multi-chiller systems in the HVAC system

Reducing the energy consumption of multi-chiller systems is of great significant in the HVAC system. In this paper we utilized a decentralized structure under which all the chillers will become an independent smart unit. The chillers will work together to find a feasible and high efficiency solution of the OCL problem and no additional control system is needed. The smart chillers will only communicate with its neighbor, thus communication efficiency and stability is relative higher. We have proposed a decentralized algorithm transplanted from the Lagrange method to solve the OCL problem under some specific constraints. Simulation studies have been conducted comparing with the previous studies to demonstrate the stability and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
