The analysis of the interdependencies of production processes in factory systems in relation to their energy efficiency requires a modeling of the different processes. Consequently, it is required to know the power consumption of the different production processes and to abstract these for the simulation model. Various existing modeling methods are thus presented and analyzed by means of milling processes. Futhermore, a comparison between three methods, which work with the arithmetic mean value, a ramp function and the approximation by a polynomial is presented. As an indicator of the quality of the methods the deviation between the measured and modeled energy consumption is used.
