We demonstrated vortex beam conversion by a resonant with intra-cavity spiral phase plate (SPP). It generated a clean single Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beam carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) corresponding to the topological charge of the SPP as we had predicted by investigating the cavity dynamics with modified Markov chains that takes into account the selection rules from the conservation of resonance frequencies.
