摘要

Natural gamma ray logging tools are one type of nuclear tool that was developed at the beginning of downhole well logging technology. They have been used for depth correlation, clay typing, radioactive tracers, and other important applications. This paper describes recently developed downhole techniques that use advanced spectroscopy technology for more accurate in-situ downhole measurements. Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) simulation cases for practical application scenarios are used to prove the effectiveness of these new techniques.
