A high gain slot coupled microstrip feed hybrid cylindrical dielectric ring resonator antenna (CDRRA) for millimeter wave communications is reported. The -10 dB return loss impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 59-61GHz. The simulated gain is around 11dBi over the operating band. The simulated electric and magnetic fields in the hybrid structure is studied that responsible for the increased gain. The broad side radiation pattern is also simulated at 59.5GHz. The structure has been designed, simulated and optimized using commercially available Finite element method based ANSYS HFSS software. We will investigate the more impedance bandwidth by choosing high dielectric constant value in the three different layer which will be presented at the conference.
