This paper investigates the use of Wearable Computing in the development of tools that can aid in learning activities. We propose an embedded system in the form of a smart glove that takes advantage of body movement to create the persistence of vision effect. This allows for the display of letters and words in literacy activities. Other functionalities have been added to the system, such as a laser emitter for interaction with the classroom environment and Bluetooth capabilities which allows for remote configuration. It is also possible to use the glove to control other systems in the environment, such as multimedia projectors. The device proposed in this work was preliminary evaluated for literacy activities with people with Down's Syndrome. The usability tests were automated by AffDex. This software allowed for the quantification of attention and engagement during activities.
