This paper focuses on the evaluation of chopped carbon fiber (CF) explosive dispersion and its effect on the attenuation of millimeter wave (MMW).Tests are carried out with a CF bomb configured a long tube charge in the center.The sample collection is based on sedimentation method.The two-dimensional plane extinction coefficient of the chopped CF is then used to evaluate the explosive dispersion, based on a linear regression in the homogenous dispersion condition.The attenuation effect of the CF explosive dispersion on the MMW is then measured.The result shows that chopped CF can be dispersed effectively by means of explosion.The cloud structures which are resulting from the dispersion have an obvious attenuation effect on the MMW.The change in the dispersion coefficient is proved to be effective to evaluate the chopped CF explosive dispersion.
