Bis(3,4,5-triiodopyrazolyl)methane (1) and bis(3,4,5-triiodopyrazolyl)ethane (2), which could be effective intermediates for the high energetic materials (HEMs), were synthesized in 56% and 55% yields, respectively, from 3,4,5-triiodopyrazole.The synthesized bis(triiodopyrazole)s were fully characterized by differential-scanning calorimeter, 1H, 13C-NMR analyses and high resolution mass spectroscopy.
