6) Validation and Qualification of Simulators for Modern Large Aircraft

Bernard Mattos graduated in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College, London, in 1975. After working at RAE Farnborough on ejection seat technology he moved to Thomson Simulation in Paris in 1978 to work on flight, flight controls and engine simulation. He was a participant in the original RAeS sponsored International Working Group on simulator regulations, and also IATA and ARInc Working Groups. In 1998 he moved to Airbus in Toulouse, working in engineering and training simulation on all the aircraft programmes. He is currently Senior Expert - Simulation at Airbus Operations, responsible for technical and strategic aspects of simulation development.
