Experimentation plays a great role in understanding the concepts in engineering subjects like Electrical Machines. All the experiments on Electrical machines are requiring high voltage supply to be handled by students which always requires supervision by an expert. As electrical drives are essential parts of all real life applications basic knowledge and thorough understanding of the working of machines becomes important. For practicing experiments like load test on DC Motor, Induction motor, No Load/ Blocked rotor test on Induction motor students must visit the laboratory which may not be possible and safe all the times. To overcome this assignment experiments can be given on Virtual Machines laboratory in which they can access the lab from home and perform experiments without the fear of high voltages and try them on real machines in the lab under supervision. As the experiments cannot be performed unless all connections are correctly done, students understand the connections correctly. However experiments could be modified with further research for wrong connections or faults on Virtual Machines laboratory and see their effects, without causing any damage. It also helps to visualize and understand various concepts like Double field revolving theory, Rotating magnetic field through simulations.
