This paper presents the techniques that consist of an electrostatic capacity and a half-wavelength dipole antenna to detect a down conductor's disconnected location in a wind turbine blade.Using the manufacturer's data,FDTD simulation models calculate the resonance current and transient current while the down conductors'length varies.The trend curves can be produced from the calculation results.The measured results of applying the proposed techniques to 1-MW wind turbines were compared with the trend curves to detect a disconnection.Examining,the propagation waveform's traveling time in a conductor confirms the estimated results from the compared trend curves.
