High-power DC-DC converters are key components in the drive train of hybrid fuel cell vehicles as they control the power flow between fuel cell and battery. Due to the complexity of the drive train interfacing with the converter and the wide range of operating conditions, control design for such converters requires a detailed analysis of the drive train and its various dynamics. In this work, an analytical model of the electrical drive train will be set forth. After validation against a circuit simulation, the model will be used for derivation of a Model Predictive Control scheme.
