Hygiene of food-packaging board is getting more and more attention: 1. Kemira is working with several machines where low microbe content in the final board is a key target for the microbe control program 2. Many end-users of the food-packaging board have recently enforced their requirements of the hygienic quality of the final board from their suppliers Microbiological quality of food-packaging board can be offset both by fungal or bacterial contaminants in the finished board. This presentation is concentrating in the control of bacterial contaminants in the board, especially focusing on the control of bacterial spores, the "toughest" opponent in combat against microbes.
