In this paper, a numerical method based on finite volume method for diesel engine is presented. The production of combustion is assumed to be a grey medium and the scatter of particle is neglected. In this paper the unstructured finite-volume method (UFVM) for radiation has been formulated and implemented in an in-house fluid flow solver GTEA. For its comparison and validation of the present FVM on unstructured grids, a test case with 3D complex geometries is chosen, which was used by S. W. Baek et.al. The results obtained by the presented FVM agree well with the exact solutions. Radiation heat transfer in TBD620 diesel engines is studied with present numerical method. It is shown that the radiation has little effect on average pressure and temperature, but it changes the temperature distribution in cylinder.
