PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs of a sheath, and costs of a metal glow plug in a sheath manufacturing method of a metal glow plug for a diesel engine.;SOLUTION: The sheath manufacturing method of a metal glow plug for a diesel engine includes a process of preparing a plate-like member 420, and a process of forming the cylindrical sheath 42 by applying machining using pressing to the plate-like member 420. After forming a length of the sheath 42 longer for just a predetermined length La than a length L at completion, a tip of the sheath is fixed to a desired shape while returning the length of the sheath 42 to the length at completion.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
