Generators are the key equipment to determine the characteristics of power system dynamic behavior, the accuracy of generators' mathematical model and parameters will directly affect the results of power system dynamic simulation. Therefore, it is particularly important to assess the accuracy of generators' simulation model. In this paper, accuracy indices were proposed to evaluate the generator dynamic model. These indices used the discrepancy between dynamic simulation results and measurements data to assess the accuracy of generator simulation model, combining primary frequency regulation performance by analyzing the characteristics of grid frequency in time domain. It could reflect not only the differences of simulate results, but also reflect primary frequency regulation characteristics of generators, Thereby laying foundations for further correction of model and parameters. In order to ensure the consistency of the simulation and the actual running state of the grid, hybrid dynamic simulation method that was achieved through phase shift transformer method was used to verify generator model based on PMU measured data. By quantifying the error calculations of the measurement and simulation data, it was confirmed that the proposed error criterion were valid.
