We present our design and submersion evaluation of a custom bio-compatible implant capsule to house our wireless telemetry system for cardiac monitoring. The package is 3D printed in two sizes and four different materials: ABS, bio-compatible ABS-M30i, RDG720 Transparent Acrylic, and 316L Stainless Steel. A long-term 98 day and 1 week short-term water immersion study is performed to validate the design and encapsulation process. Each implant is sealed with Loctite 4311 epoxy and dipped into Loctite 5091 silicone to create an impermeable membrane. Conclusion of the long-term immersion study determined the implant capsule suitable for in-vivo studies.
