摘要

A fundamental issue in aircraft fatigue testing is proper application of frequency domain-based load sources - such as PSD (continuous turbulence) gust loads or PSD taxi/takeoff/ landing rollout loads. This is due to the fact that the PSD response of the aircraft at a given load station is due to an accumulation of content across a range of frequencies. The PSD response at a second location may differ in frequency content from the first, thus introducing a difference in "phasing" (or "balance") between the two. The challenge, then, is how to apply these loads on a quasi-static fatigue test article that requires balanced load inputs. This paper outlines a method to ensure that the proper load magnitudes, numbers of cycles, and balancing are applied for frequency domain-based load sources.
