A new dimensionless Tabor's parameter is derived to account for the combined microscopic mechanical and adhesion properties of single bacteria strain. It bears a strong correlation with the macroscopic cell deposition behavior for 6 different strains of environmental relevance. The work presents an important preliminary step to incorporate fundamental surface science and solid mechanics into the subject of bacteria adhesion-aggregation-transportation. It is concluded that microscopic single cell characterization and compilation of μ can lead to reliable prediction of the macroscopic transportation behavior.
