FUELING THE LOCAL INDUSTRY THROUGH THE SUMMER NUCLEAR SCIENCE INSTITUTES AT SC STATE UNIVERSITY

摘要

The SNSI has become a successful means of recruiting high achieving students into the engineering and science programs at SC State. It is also an opportunity to train future engineers and scientists for successful careers in the local nuclear industry. At present, 18 participants from the 2008-2010 institutes are enrolled at SC State (9 in Nuclear Engineering; 4 in Biology/Pre Med Track; 2 in Civil Engineering; and 3 in non engineering and science related disciplines). Two participants from the 2010 institute are currently enrolled at The Georgia Institute of Technology (GA Tech) and pursuing degrees in Nuclear Engineering.
