New Nuclear Plant Training Challenges

The road from an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contract to a Construction and Operating License (COL) to the Commercial Operations Date (COD) for new nuclear plants is bumpy and circuitous. It is even more challenging for first-of-a-class plants. Training must commence in the same time frame as construction, followed closely by other operational readiness activities that are essential for line ownership of training programs.
