Spatio-Temporal Phase-Contrast Imaging of Tenuous Laser Plasma Structures

We demonstrate a pump-probe phase-contrast method that reconstructs the spatio-temporal profile of plasma structures at density as low as 10~(16) cm~(-3). The method is compatible with very thin, very long, even turbulent media.
