Characterization of intracavity losses in Yb-ion laser oscillators based on spectroscopic gain analysis

Intracavity losses of Yb-ion laser oscillators cannot be properly estimated using the traditional Findlay-Clay analysis. This work provides a simple, accurate and dynamic technique to determine them based on the wavelength-dependent gain analysis.
