A new interferometric mode crossing the differential SAR interferometry and the 3D multibaseline SAR tomography concepts, that can be termed 3D Doppler SAR tomography, has been recently proposed. Joint elevation-velocity resolution capability of multiple scatterers is theoretically achievable in a two-dimensional baseline-time spectral analysis framework, especially resorting to adaptive reduction of leakage from the sparse sampling. First experimental tests of potentials of this challenging concept are reported using ERS-1/2 data, including pre-processing steps specific for the spaceborne application.
