Land surface biophysical parameters are very important in modeling the exchange of energy, water and carbon between continents and the atmosphere. Nevertheless, current global land surface products, mainly produced from satellite observations, are limited both spatially and temporally. A sophisticated temporal and spatial filtering algorithm (TSF) was developed to fill the gaps and provide continuous products. This algorithm was used to produce value-added FPAR products over North America. The MODIS FPAR products are processed in this paper. The reprocessed FPAR products show improved spatial and temporal characteristics and can be applied by various models.
