Studies into electroporation have grown increasingly popular over the past few years; many studies have been presented both theoretically and practically based. Now presented is a numerical simulation study of the applied pulse amplitude, duration and shape and how these factors relate to the number of pores created during this process. Pulse shapes studied include rectangular, exponential and triangular pulses. Results suggest that out of the most common pulse shapes rectangular pulses are the most efficient pore producers, these results agree with prior studies however disagree with one study, which uses the same model for simulation.
