摘要

The traditional lead-acid battery chargers, which take the single closed-loop analog control strategy, have the disadvantages such as low reliability, low charging efficiency and lack of charging protection function, etc. In order to deal with these disadvantages, an intelligent lead-acid battery charger based on SCM double closed-loop control is introduced in this paper. The main circuit, MOSFET diver circuit of the charger and the flow chart of program are presented firstly. Then the novel Frequency-Varied PWM control strategy is applied to fulfil the wide range of load changes. Through using the high-performance power chip UC3842 which works as driver and front-end circuit controller, the reliability of designed battery charger gets improved. Based on the traditional three-stage charging process, the pulse current charging process and protection functions are added to system to help repair the battery and extend the life span of the battery. The results of simulation and experimentation show that the design proposed in this paper is feasible.
