Optimizing the Rice Drying Parameters of Intermittent Concurrent Flow by Response Surface Methodology

In order to optimize intermittent concurrent flow drying parameters of rice, application of response surface methodology was used in this study. The research results showed that the prediction of the increment of fissure ratio was 2.91%;layer thickness was 55 cm;surface velocity was 0.54 m/s;the hot air temperature was 94.16°C and the drying time was 12 min. The relative error was 14.09% between the theoretical value of 2.91% and the average experiment value of 2.50%. Conclusions demonstrated that the response surface methodology was feasible optimizing intermittent concurrent flow drying parameters of raw rice, the results obtained in this study had practical application value.
