Rice blast, bacterial leaf blight and sheath bright are three major diseases in north and south china. Stripe virus disease is a virus disease spread by plant hoppers and damage to japonica rice seriously in south china. Rice diseases are major factors that influenced the high and stable yields of rice seriously. Polymerizing different types of resistance genes together and cultivating multi-resistance varieties are the basic ways and effective measures to rice diseases prevention and control. The application and research progress of microsatellite markers to genetic improvement of disease resistance on rice were described, and the problems in the application were analyzed, with a view that these works could promote the application of this technology to the disease resistance research, and then accelerated the breeding process.
