Electrochemical techniques I.e. potentiodynamic polarization curves and polarization resistance (Rp) measurements were used to study the hot corrosion behavior of two intermetallic compounds I.e. FeAl and Fe3Al with minor additions of Ni, Ce and Li exposed in a NaVO3 salt at 700 °C. The results showed that the intermetallic alloys with single additions or co-doped disclosed better corrosion resistance than the Fe-Al intermetallic alloys by several orders of magnitude. On the whole, the FeAlLi intermetallic alloy has the greater resistance to hot corrosion. Since the FeAl alloy without additions showed the greatest corrosion rate, the influence of the alloying elements on the corrosion behavior was of paramount importance.
